What is Thinsulate Technology?

Thinsulate insulation works by trapping air molecules between you and the outside. The more air a material traps in a given space, the greater its insulating value. Because the microfibers in Thinsulate insulation are far finer than other fibers, they trap more air in less space, which naturally makes it a better insulator. So we haven't repealed the laws of nature with our thin insulation; we've simply obeyed them better...to your advantage. Thinsulate features include; Breathable, moisture resistant & both machine washable and dry cleanable.

What is English Oak Camouflage?

English Oak Camo is Jack Pyke's own ingenious design. Based on an English Woodland - and not a USA forest - if you wish to blend into the British countryside you now can, with a carefully designed English pattern on garments and bags made for effortless comfort and fit. Based on high resolution photographs of what is considered to be the most important individual elements, digitally combined and strategically placed to form a seamless pattern. This pattern is then printed onto the material using the 'superior definition process'. This ultra realistic logically produced English oak pattern contains predominantly brown and green colours and is ideal for countryside pursuits.

PLCE stands for; Personal Load Carrying Equipment. The term PLCE is often used to describe a broad range of carrying equipment – however we ensure that only genuine PLCE products which satisfy stringent UK military requirements covering infra-red reflection (IRR), thermal signature and flame resistance, are referred to as ‘PLCE’ in our catalogue. What are '58 Pattern' products?

1958 pattern webbing was a modular based personal equipment system issued to the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom from the 1950's up until the mid 80's. It replaced the 1937 pattern webbing equipment that had served the UK's Armed Forces through the Second World War and the first decade of the cold war. It was in turn gradually replaced in the 1990s by the current issue '95 Pattern Personal Load Carrying Equipment (PLCE), though today it can still be seen in use by the UK's Cadet Forces. A general issue of 58 pattern webbing consisted of a belt, yoke, ammunition pouches (left and right), a water bottle and pouch, two kidney pouches and a poncho roll. The were a number of ancillary pouches for specialist tasks, e.g pistol holster, compass pouch. The equipment was worn in a series of combinations. Weapon Training Order (or Skeleton Webbing) consisted of Belt, Yoke and Ammunition pouches. Complete Equipment Fighting Order (CEFO), was the term used for the full webbing system and once the Large Pack was attached, it became Complete Equipment Marching Order (CEMO). Over the course of its service, there were a number of developments and modifications. When the system was originally designed, little scope was given to Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical warfare and when this was addressed, the system gained a respirator haversack to house the then issue S6 NBC Respirator. The were a number of ancillary pouches for specialist tasks, e.g pistol holster, compass pouch.
